We have submitted an application to the Charities Commission so that Club F.O.D can be a registered charity and structured as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation whose only voting members are its charity trustees.
Our objects are:
- To promote equality and diversity, eliminate discrimination and raise awareness and advocate for the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) communities: persuading public and political opinion where appropriate to tackle the inequalities and barriers faced by the LGBT+ community.
- To advance education and signpost to appropriate advice and support services and support a wide range of organisations which work with LGBT+ people and support other service providers in making their services more appropriate to the needs of the LGBT+ community.
- To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing LGBT+ people from being socially excluded from society on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity, in particular by:
providing a local network group that encourages and enables members of the LGBT+ community to participate more effectively with the wider community;
increasing or co-ordinating opportunities for members of the LGBT+ community to engage with service providers and to enable those providers to adapt services to better meet the needs of that community.
promoting and staging regular social events both in person and online and making grants and/or donations to other charitable and voluntary organisations or charitable projects that support the LGBT+ community in the area of benefit.
Such other objects as are charitable under the laws of England and Wales as the trustees shall at their absolute discretion determine.
